Please help this budding engineer to save his life
Dear Sir/ Madame,
Piyumal Gunawardane is a third year student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Moratuwa . Currently he is suffering from a severe throat / tongue cancer, and requires immediate surgery at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore in order to save his life. The past few months of this young boy were spent at Karapitiya Hospital where he underwent most painful radiotherapy treatments. Then he was taken to India for a surgery at the Apollo hospital, but had to return unfortunately without undergoing the surgery.
At the moment he is undergoing chemotherapy in Singapore which will cost nearly 2 million Sri Lankan rupees. This will be followed by a surgery which is estimated to cost 4.5 Million Sri Lankan rupees, which is an amount that the boy's family can only dream to afford, his father being a retired station master and his mother being a teacher.
Piyumal was a bright student at his alma mater, Rahula College , passing out with flying colours at the G.C.E., A/L examination, 2003, when he was placed 2nd in the Matara district in the math stream. Had fate not been thus cruel on him, he would have had a normal life that we all take so much for granted.
We would be much obliged to you if you could donate some money to save this bright young boy's life, this budding engineer's life, to help him fight the cruelty of fate with the goodness of humanity.
